Privacy policy
IncendifyTM is an online neuroplasticity course platform for professional development. This Privacy Policy describes how AdrianCo LLC, doing business as IncendifyTM ("Incendify," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use incendify.io, our member app at app.incendify.io, and the Incendify mobile apps for iOS and Android (collectively, our "Services").
The professionals who choose Incendify entrust us with information about their work and their daily practice. Protecting that information is fundamental to how we have built Incendify. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any of the rights described below, please contact us at ignite@incendify.io.
1. Our privacy commitments
The following commitments apply to every person who uses our Services:
- Data minimization. We collect only the information necessary to provide your courses and membership, process your purchases, maintain the security of our Services, and improve our courses.
- No sale of personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, whether for money or for any other consideration.
- No advertising use. We do not use or share your personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not display advertisements, and our websites do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.
- Confidentiality of your learning activity. Your learning activity is stored within our own systems and used solely to deliver and improve your courses. We do not disclose it to analytics or advertising companies. If your organization provides your access, we do not share your individual learning activity with your organization without your consent.
- Limits on our service providers. The companies that help us operate our Services may use your information only to perform services on our behalf, and may not use it for their own marketing.
- Your control. Wherever you reside in the United States, you may access, correct, download, or delete your personal information, as described in Section 8.
If we change these commitments, we will notify you in advance, and we will not apply a less protective practice to information collected under this Privacy Policy without your consent.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your first and last name, email address, password, and the professional role you select. Your password is stored by our authentication provider in a protected, one-way (hashed) form that cannot be read by anyone, including us.
- Purchase information. When you make a purchase, we record the item purchased, the date, the amount paid, and the email address associated with the order. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe, and we never receive or store your full card number.
- Forms and correspondence. When you join our waitlist, request information, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
- Feedback. If you choose to submit feedback about a course or module, we collect the content of that feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Learning activity. We record the courses, modules, and practices you begin and complete, your viewing progress, the items you save, and the certificates you earn. We use this information to display your progress, maintain your Practices library, and administer our refund terms.
- Mobile app information. If you enable notifications, we collect a device token so that we can deliver them. The app also stores your secure sign-in credentials and copies of your progress and saved items on your device to support offline use. When you sign out, these on-device copies are removed, but your progress and saved items remain securely stored in your account and are restored when you sign in again.
- Diagnostic information. When our apps or Services encounter an error or performance issue, technical details such as error and crash reports, the app version, and performance timing are sent to our error-monitoring provider so that we can resolve the issue. These reports are not associated with your name or account, although crash reports may include technical device identifiers.
- Device and log information. Our servers automatically receive your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We use this information to maintain security, prevent abuse, and verify that forms are submitted by a person.
- Website analytics. We use privacy-focused analytics tools to measure visits to incendify.io and page load performance. These tools do not use cookies, do not store information on your device, and do not identify you personally.
We do not collect medical records, precise geolocation, contact lists, or biometric information.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- Service delivery. We use your information to create and manage your account, provide your courses, practices, and Practices library, track your progress, and issue certificates.
- Purchases and billing. We use your information to process payments, membership renewals, and refunds, and to send receipts and renewal reminders.
- Communications. We send service communications, such as account, security, and policy notices. If you have subscribed, we also send updates such as waitlist news, course releases, and new practices, from which you may unsubscribe at any time.
- Course improvement. Within our own systems, we review learning activity across members, such as where participants pause or stop in a course, to refine and improve our courses. You may ask us to exclude your activity, as described in Section 8.
- Security. We use information to prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Legal compliance. We maintain the records required by tax and accounting law and respond to lawful requests.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only in the circumstances described below.
Service providers
We engage a limited number of carefully selected service providers to help us operate our Services. These providers are contractually restricted to using your information solely to perform services on our behalf. They include providers of:
- cloud hosting, content delivery, video and audio streaming, and form spam protection;
- database storage and secure authentication;
- payment processing, provided by Stripe;
- email delivery and email list management;
- mobile app delivery and push notifications;
- error and performance monitoring; and
- privacy-focused website analytics.
Our payment processor, Stripe, may also use payment information to prevent fraud and to comply with its own legal obligations, as described in Stripe's privacy policy.
Your organization
If your organization provides your access, we share with it only the information necessary to administer its seats, such as your name, email address, and seat status. We do not share your individual learning activity with your organization without your consent.
Legal requirements and safety
We may disclose information where required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our members, Incendify, or others.
Business transfers
If Incendify is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require any recipient to honor this Privacy Policy, and we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent
We may share information for other purposes with your consent.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only the cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for our Services to function. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and our websites do not use cross-site trackers. We will request your consent before storing information on your device for any other purpose.
On our websites (incendify.io and app.incendify.io):
- Authentication. When you sign in, sign-in cookies keep you signed in and direct you to the appropriate page. Browsing incendify.io without signing in does not place sign-in cookies on your device.
- Checkout. Details of a purchase in progress are stored in your browser tab during checkout and cleared when the tab is closed.
- Practice progress. Your place in a practice is saved in your browser so that you can resume where you left off.
- Fraud and spam prevention. Our payment processor at checkout, and our spam protection provider on our forms, may store information in your browser to prevent fraud and spam.
In our mobile apps:
- Our apps do not use cookies.
- Sign-in. Your sign-in credentials are stored securely on your device so that you stay signed in, and are removed when you sign out.
- Offline copy. The app keeps a copy of your progress, saved items, and course access so that it works offline, along with any progress, feedback, or saved items recorded while offline until they reach us.
- Preferences. Your display, reminder, and notification settings are stored on your device.
- App updates. The app keeps its latest version on your device, along with an installation identifier our update provider uses to deliver it.
- Error monitoring. An installation identifier that our error-monitoring provider uses to report technical failures, and any reports waiting to be sent.
- Temporary files. Course images and certificates you download are kept in temporary storage on your device.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not track users across third-party websites, or sell or share personal information for advertising, our practices do not change in response to Do Not Track signals. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
6. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary, as described below:
- Account and learning activity. We retain this information for as long as your account remains open, and we condense detailed viewing activity into summary form over time. This information is deleted when you delete your account.
- Purchase records. We retain purchase records for the period required by tax and accounting law, including after you delete your account, at which point they are no longer associated with your profile.
- Email list. We retain your email address on our mailing list for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only a record of your address and your unsubscribe request so that we do not email you again.
- Correspondence. We retain messages you send us for as long as necessary to assist you and to maintain a record of our correspondence.
- Notification tokens. We retain device tokens until you sign out, disable notifications, or your device no longer accepts them.
- Server logs and diagnostic reports. We retain these for a limited period, after which they are deleted.
- Backups. Deleted information may remain in secure backups until those backups expire on their regular schedule.
7. How we protect information
We protect your information using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access restricted to personnel who require it, and service providers selected for their security practices. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we will notify you of any security incident affecting your information as required by law.
8. Your privacy rights
We extend the following rights to all Incendify users, regardless of their state of residence:
- Access and portability. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You may update your name and email address in your account settings, or ask us to correct other information.
- Deletion. You may delete your account from your account settings at app.incendify.io or in the mobile app. Deletion removes your profile, learning history, saved items, feedback, and certificates, subject to the retention practices described in Section 6. An active membership must be canceled before deletion, and deleting your account ends your access to purchased courses.
- Course improvement opt-out. You may ask us to exclude your learning activity from the review we conduct to improve our courses.
- Email preferences. You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time using the link in any marketing email, effective immediately. Receipts, renewal reminders, and account notices will continue.
- Push notifications. You may disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising purposes, so no opt-out is necessary. We nonetheless honor Global Privacy Control signals.
Submitting a request
To exercise any of these rights, please email ignite@incendify.io from the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, and we may request proof of that authorization. We will respond within 30 days.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response with the word "Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within 45 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact the attorney general of your state.
Nondiscrimination
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
California residents
We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2, which include identifiers, commercial information, and internet or other electronic network activity information, for the purposes described in Section 3. We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Who our Services are for
Incendify is designed for professionals, and our Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it and close any associated account. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us.
10. Where information is processed
Our Services are offered to professionals in the United States. We store and process information in the United States, and our service providers may also process it in other countries in which they operate, subject to protections consistent with this Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If we make a material change, we will notify members by email before it takes effect. As described in Section 1, we will not apply a less protective practice to information collected under this Privacy Policy without your consent.
